Easter in Sheffield Craft BeedIt’s a four-dayer and it all kicks off on Good Friday at Yellow Arch in Kelham Island for their beer festival. The iconic venue are hosting their 3rd beer festival with some of Sheffield’s finest breweries include The Brew Foundation! We’ll be there, with great company from Stancill Brewery and Lost Industry Brewing. All good festivals need food and Proove Pizza are doing just that. It’s great value for money as entrance is just £1.50 (pint class included!) and there’s DJs playing funk until ‘late’. More details available here.

Easter in Sheffield BBQHopefully the weather picks up (not looking likely) as Smo Fo Pit Stop is taking place throughout the weekend at Summit House car park on Eyre Street with BBQ food, craft beer and bands. This pop—up event is the first of what will become a monthly event. They’ve sourced some of the best BBQ going, catering for carnivores and vegans so that nobody goes hungry. Beer is supplied by Sheffield favourites, Abbeydale Brewery, Sentinel and Kelham Island Brewery. Fingers crossed that the weather men are wrong, BBQ is the snow isn’t ideal. More info here.

Remember, Jesus died for this!

Canalside Night MarketSaturday sees the 3rd Canalside Night Market at the Southbank Warehouse. Kicking off at 2 there’s a wide range of food and drink available including a bar dedicated to gin. There’ll also be live music, DJ’s and artists keeping entertainment going until 11pm.

More details here.

Easter in Sheffield Leadmill specialOnce you’ve eaten your way through your chocolate eggs to get over the hangover, Easter Sunday is all about letting loose and Common People at the Leadmilli ideal for Brit pop and noughties indie fans as hits will be played from 11pm to 4am.

Beer Central Bottle Share

Bottle Share eventWe’re hosting our first event at the Ale Club tonight! We’ve teamed with Sheffield’s favourite beer shop, Beer Central for a bottle share evening. These guys are pro’s at this kind of thing, it’s their 26th.

Did you spend your dinner breaks at school swapping your duplicate football stickers with your mates in hope that you’d be the first to complete the book? Well, imagine that you’ve only got one Alexis Sanchez sticker, you love him so much, so much so that your Manchester United fan friend should enjoy him too. It’s rare that we get anything for free, so in return they give you Henrikh Mkhitarayn, seems fair, right?

It’s still (STILL!) January and it’s bloody cold. Too cold to play swapsys outside. Luckily the Ale Club is nice and cosy and beer keeps us warm, and happy. Christmas seems a lifetime ago but we’ve got through Blue Monday and it no longer gets dark at 3pm so there’s hope there…

What’s a bottle share event?

We all like to think of ourselves as an influencer in one way or another, this is your opportunity to share your passions of your favourite beer with other beer enthusiasts, and enjoy theirs. What better time to do this than during Tryanuary!

How are you getting on with Tryanuary?

Have you been adventurous? Found a new favourite? Bottle sharing gives you a voice and helps you understand flavours you would have previously overlooked whilst making friends (drinking partners) at the same time!

You might think that your go-to stout or the pale that brings your tastebuds to life is everybody else’s but that probably isn’t the case and they’ll be somebody who is still a virgin to your favourite brew. There’s nothing better than watching the happiness of the drinkers face as they beam with joy from the beer you introduced to them. Every time they have it, they’ll be thinking about you.

Don’t be shy, come and talk to the group (don’t worry, it won’t be too daunting, they’ll be maximum of 14 likeminded folks and you can always drink before you talk). It’s a casual event, no rules or pressures plus, they’ll be free snacks for bottle share participants.

For more details on tonights bottle share event, which starts at 7pm visit the Facebook event page.

What will you bring? What are you willing to share? Thumbs up to anyone who brings their favourite Brew Foundation along.

Want to know more about Beer Central? Click here.

There’s no charge, just let Sean from Beer Central know that you’ll be coming along via your favoured social media outlet.

Unfortunately there’s still a couple of weeks left of January but we are continuing to embrace Tryanuary with new favourites constantly rotating on the bar and in the fridge. We can make it to February, the struggle might be real but it’s easier with a pint of deliciousness.

Christmas in Sharrow Vale

Sharrow Vale Market Dec 17Ecclesall Road might get all the attention but, behind it is Sharrow Vale Road where you’ll find something different. Especially at Christmas.

You know what you are going to get on Ecclesall Road and there’s something for everybody. On the other hand, Sharrow Vale Road boasts independent boho vibes. Like Ecclesall Road, there’s food, drinks, homeware etc but on a small, unique scale.

Sharrow Vale has a community and every few months, on a Sunday, they come together, close the road off and have a market. Craft and farmers markets are generally pretty similar and when something becomes repetitive, people get bored and stop coming.

Sharrow Vale Road market isn’t like that. Every time it attracts a huge crowd who stroll up and down, enjoying everything on offer from fresh meat to street food, handmade crafts and accessories as well as entertainment.

brew foundation bar sharrow valeIt can be thirsty work but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Not only do we have our Brew Foundation pumps serving a collection of our finest beers we also have gift boxes, perfect for Christmas.

brew foundation christmas giftsDon’t forget our Ale Club is around the corner and open from 11:30am to 11pm. Sundays don’t need to be lazy when you can get drunk whilst shopping for unique prezzies.

Who are The Brew Foundation?

Ecclesall Ale Club, the home of The Brew Foundation

It’s no secret that the craft beer scene has exploded in the last few years. It’s a trend that will slowly become the norm, for two reasons, 1; it’s made with passion, by people who love the stuff and 2; people love beer. This is the same story for The Brew Foundation, the brewers behind the Ecclesall Ale Club.

A father and son collaboration who turned their hobby (tasting beer) into a business where they could brew their favourite tastes and share the results..

Since launching, The Brew Foundation have grown organically, the product line covers the spectrum of pales from American to hoppy as well as a gluten free option. It’s not exclusively pales though, they are brewers who like to experiment, their porters and bitters have proved to be popular too.

Sheffield beer Brew Foundation

The beer is brewed in Wincle, Cheshire and distributed on both sides of the Pennines. You’ll find Brew Foundation beers on many taps in Sheffield (unless they have sold out). This demand was the driving force behind the Ecclesall Ale Club where you’ll be able to taste the beers on tap and take some bottles home with you. They’ll be guest beers available as well!

The Brew Foundation brew beers with love for people who love beers.

Come visit our bar at the Nantwich Food Festival 2017

Nantwich Food Festival 2017 is taking place this coming weekend, Friday 1st September until Sunday 3rd September. As food festivals go, Nantwich Food Festival is pretty much a big deal, and this year is no exception. We, the Brew Foundation, will have our mobile bar set up in the Town Square just inside Cheerbrook Farm marquee.
