Brew Foundation at Highland Fling at Graves Park

On Bank Holiday Monday (2nd May) Graves Park in Sheffield will be playing host to the 13th annual “Highland Fling” Country Fair.

This free family-friendly event features a fun dog show, birds of prey, sheep shearing, train rides, fairground rides, the ever-popular Highland cattle show and…ferret racing! Now who doesn’t love a good ferret race?!?

Our friends at Box Bar are bringing their shipping-container-converted-into-a-luxury-bar set up (it looks AWESOME) and they’ll be pouring pints of lovely Brew Foundation beer (because watching ferret racing is thirsty work!). They’ll be serving Hops & Dreams and Hop & Glory, both on keg tap, all day at the event.

Graves Park animal farm will also be open where children and adults can enjoy the company of pigs, goats, donkeys, hens, rabbits, guinea pigs and newborn lambs and calves.

So if you’re children love animals and you love beer, you know where you need to be on Monday! – Graves Park!

More details about Highland Fling can be found here.

Brew Foundation beer now permanently on at Hallam Union

We’re very proud to announce that Bar Pheonix at Sheffield Hallam Students Union (HUBS) now has it’s very own Brew Foundation hand pull serving our cask ales to thirsty Sheffield students.Brew Foundation hand pump at Hallam HUBS

After the success of having our bottles on sale at Bar Pheonix we installed a cask ale hand pump (well, Inn Cellar Equipment did it for us but we’ll claim the credit) making cask ale finally available at Hallam Union again.

We’ll be putting on a rotating range of our lovely cask beer so that Sheffield Hallam students can always enjoy a Brew Foundation cask conditioned beer in between their studies.

Currently Hops & Dreams is on the bar and First Light is coming on soon.

Bottles of all our beers are still available from the fridges behind the bar if you fancy trying the whole range in one night!

Keep your eyes peeled for our new dark fruit porter coming out in May. It will be available in cask and bottles at Sheffield Hallam Students’ Union as soon as it’s ready.

Brew Foundation beers now permanently at Craft and Dough

We’re very proud to announce that Brew Foundation beers are now permanently on tap at both Craft and Dough sites; at Kelham Island and at Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.

After the success of the Hop & Glory launch event last Thursday at the Kelham Island Craft and Dough, it has been agreed that The Brew Foundation will be a permanent fixture on their bars! (Woo-hoo!)

This basically means that there will always be at least one Brew Foundation beer on draught plus bottles of all our beers will also always be available. We’ll constantly rotate the draught selection so you’re always getting something new but you can rest assure that you can now always get a pint of Brew Foundation craft beer with your favourite artisan pizza!

The other awesome news is that we’ll do launch events for all our new beers at Craft and Dough with free tasters, unique Brew Foundation pizzas, and meet the brewer nights. Our next beer, that we’re working on now, will be a porter; so keep your eyes peeled for that in the next 6 weeks.

We’re so excited to partner with such a great brand and we look forward to cooking up a storm with these guys and gals.

More info about Craft and Dough and their awesome pizzas and beers can be found here.

Hop & Glory being launched at Craft and Dough on 17th March

Good new folks! Our new 4.9% IPA, Hop & Glory, is being officially launched at Craft and Dough at Kelham Island on 17th March as part of Sheffield Beer Week.

James from The Brew Foundation will be at Craft and Dough from 5pm for an informal chat about how we started cuckoo brewing and began The Brew Foundation. You’ll be among the first people to taste our new IPA, Hop & Glory which is the bigger brother of our successful session IPA, Hops & Dreams. Hop & Glory is a bit stronger than it’s baby brother at 4.9%, so still very quaffable, and is made from the same great three hops: Magnum, Cascade and Rakau but with lashings more aroma hops (Cascade) and dry hopping (Rakau) to give this new beer a satisfying tropical hop kick.

As well as being able to be some of the first to try our new brew, the great folks at Craft and Dough have also got food offers on all week long, from 16th to 22nd March. They have paired Brew Foundation beers with some of their artisan pizzas making a Brew Foundation beer plus it’s paired pizza is just £8!

Beer and Pizza Pairings – match the beer & pizza for £8
– ‘Bitter That’ ESB bottles with ‘Crafty Cuts’ pizza
– ‘First Light’ APA bottles with ‘Beets & Roots’ pizza
– ‘Hops & Dreams’ session IPA bottles with ‘Tandoori Chicken’ pizza

Also on Thursday night at the launch event, as well as some free tasters of Hop & Glory and meet the brewer, all Sheffield Beer Week ticket holders get 25% off pints of Hop & Glory all night long!

Find out more at the Facebook event page here:

We hop to see you there! (see what we did there).
