The Ultimate tap Takeover at The Itchy Pig

There are tap takeovers and then there is this: Next week, Ted the landlord of the Itchy Pig micro pub in Broomhill, Sheffield is going away; so James from The Brew Foundation is doing the ULTIMATE tap takeover and running the pub for the week. To say we’re excited is an understatement!

We’ll be showcasing our latest brew, Janet’s Treat porter during the week, along with a selection of our other beers, and we have sourced some great beers from some other great breweries for you to enjoy. As well as some Sheffield favourites we’ve also tried to get hold of some beers that aren’t frequently found in Sheffield, including beers from: Sandiway Ales, Burton Bridge and Wincle.

We’ll be taking over from Tuesday 8th November through to Saturday 12th. Ted’s back on Sunday to pick up the pieces! Haha. Make sure you come on down for the pint or three and say hi to us one evening!

We look forward to seeing you at the Pig next week!

Two amazing beer festivals this week

This week, two of our favourite CAMRA branches are holding their annual beer festivals and there are Brew Foundation beers at both!

The Stoke Beer and Cider Festival is taking place at Fenton Manor Sports Complex from Thursday 20th to Saturday 22nd October, and the Sheffield Beer and Cider Festival is taking place at Kelham Island Museum from Wednesday 19th October to Saturday 22nd October.

At the Stoke Beer Festival there will be Hops & Dreams and Little Bitter That, and at the Sheffield Beer Festival there will be Pop and Little Bitter That.

Both festivals have a mind boggling range of beers, ciders and meads on offer, with Sheffield also having a keg bar! There is entertainment and food at both but be aware: make sure you get there early in order to avoid disappointment because both events are incredibly popular. We’d hate for all the beer to have gone by the time your arrive.

Another new beer on it’s way: Pop!

It’s like waiting for a bus: two arrive at once! Hot on the heels of our recent Laughing Water, next week sees a new session strength pale ale from The Brew Foundation called: Pop.

Pop will be nice and light in colour and strength (3.6% abv). Made from a new English hop called Olicana and dry hopped with lots of Mosaic to make our latest beer a hoppy session ale with a passionfruit and blueberry hop kick.

Due to it’s hoppy aroma and taste we’ve called this one “Pop”. Casks will be ready from 21st October, with bottles and kegs ready shortly after then. Pop will be available at all our usual stockists but keep your eyes peeled for it and follow our social media accounts to find out where you can pop in for a pint of Pop.

Before Christmas we also aim to bring out our first dark beer, a long awaited porter. We’ll keep you posted on that so there’ll be more details to follow.

Laughing Water at Nether Edge Market this weekend

This Sunday (18th September) it’s the Nether Edge Market in Sheffield. We’ll be there with our mobile bar serving pints of our cask and keg beers including our brand new beer, Laughing Water, on cask. If you haven’t tried Laughing Water yet then come on down to the market and have a pint with us. Our stall will be on Glen Road, off Union Road, in Nether Edge.

As well as pints and halves we will also be selling bottles and presentation packs of all our bottled beers. A Brew Foundation presentation pack of beer is the perfect Christmas gift for a beer loving loved one. You can choose which 4 beers you have in the pack, all for just £10.

Nether Edge Market starts at 12am on Sunday and finishes at 4pm so there’s plenty of time to come for a beer no matter what time your Sunday lunch is!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Meet the Brewer on 30th August at Little Tap, Tarporley

This coming Tuesday, 3oth August, James from The Brew Foundation will be doing a “meet the brewer” at the Little Tap in Tarporley.

James will be there from 5pm until 7pm to answer any questions about The Brew Foundation and our lovely beer. It’s a free event, so all are welcome.

You will be able to find out about our future beers (one is being brewed as we speak) and you’ll be able to sample our full current range. Even better than that is: The Little Little Tap have got lashings of Little Bitter That for you to try for free! So if you haven’t already been lucky enough to have a pint of it, it’s a great opportunity to come on down, have a chat and have some free beer! The perfect way to spend a Tuesday evening!

As you all know we were asked by the guys at the Little Tap to make them a malty, fruity session bitter for their fantastic new bar and restaurant; so we gladly obliged. Little Bitter That is now available in other bars and bottle shops across Cheshire, Stoke and Sheffield but it’ll always be the Little Tap’s beer and is always available on their bar for all to enjoy.

You can find the Little Tap at 69 High Street, Tarporley, CW6. We look forward to having a drink with you from 5pm on Tuesday!
